Prompt
Instead of asking "how do I succeed?" ask "how would I guarantee failure?" Then avoid those things. Charlie Munger's approach: 1. Define the desired outcome: [your goal]. 2. Invert: list every action that would guarantee the opposite outcome. 3. Systematically ensure you are not doing those things. 4. What remains is your strategy. Example: Want a great relationship? List every behavior that destroys relationships (contempt, stonewalling, dishonesty). Avoid those consistently. Why inversion works: humans are better at recognizing problems than imagining solutions. Our threat detection is more reliable than our optimism. "All I want to know is where I'm going to die, so I'll never go there." — Charlie Munger.
